Prescription drug use is up, according to a recent study by medical research at West Virginia University and is "as powerful, addictive and dangerous as heroin." Hospitalizations for poisoning by opioids, sedatives and tranquilizers increased 65 percent from 1999-2006 and is now the second leading cause of unintentional injury death in the U.S. Scenar Health USA has been involved with a clinical trial of SCENAR in Florida on Pain Management; specifically in its application in the area of drug and alcohol rehabilitation. 14 clients in a 28-day residential treatment program, with complaints of pain, were treated with various severity and location of their pain. After each of the first four sessions, the pain returned to pretreatment levels between sessions and it took five sessions to achieve a decrease in pretreatment pain severity. The client’s pain decreased from a 6 at initiation to a 4 at the last visit following treatment, which represents a 30% overall decrease in pain.
"Based on these preliminary results, we believe that SCENAR is an effective adjunct to the non-narcotic treatment of pain. SCENAR has excellent potential as part of a holistic program for the management of pain, especially chronic pain."- Siobhan Morse, NIFHAS, APRIL 2010.
